The State where we work is one of the poorest states in India, it is also home to more than 241 million people, making it the highest populated state in India. The majority of the people depend on agriculture and migrant farm work, which is often unreliable and leaves many families without jobs for months at a time.
So, we have started several Tailoring Schools where young & old, poor & marginalized women can come free of charge and go through training for six months. Later they can start their own small business in their village, town or local market.
This initiative has been a tremendous blessing to hundreds of women every year. One year we training more than 240 women from the underprivileged communities, helping them in their livelihood and earning an income in a respectable trade. With skills and knowledge, there is no need to resort to the desperate and demeaning work of prostitution or rag-picking in the cities. Learning a trade gives these women hope for the future and a means to support themselves and their families.

Time is running out and we need your help! We still need $3,000 before we can start a sixth tailoring school in India. Your gift of $50, $100, $150 or more will go towards the building costs and supplies need to open the school. We can do this together!
Let’s start this school!
